Landscape Crew Leader / Foreman — $24–$29/hr + Incentives $24–$29/HR + PERFORMANCE INCENTIVES | 4-DAY WORKWEEK | Retirement Plan BAM’S Landscaping is looking for an experienced Landscape Crew Leader / Foreman to join our growing team in Montgomery County. If you’re an experienced landscaper who can lead by example, keep a crew productive, communicate well, and take pride in quality work, we’d like to hear from you. This is a working Crew Leader position. You’ll spend your day in the field working alongside your crew while taking responsibility for getting jobs completed correctly, efficiently, and on schedule. Your responsibilities may include: Lead a small landscaping crew in the field Organize the crew’s daily work and keep everyone productive Work alongside the crew rather than simply directing from the sidelines Perform and oversee mowing, trimming, pruning, mulching, planting, cleanups and other landscape work Operate and safely use landscaping equipment Make sure work is completed according to BAM’S quality standards Keep projects moving efficiently and communicate problems to management Communicate with the office regarding job progress, materials, scheduling and customer issues Communicate professionally with customers when needed Help train newer and less-experienced crew members Maintain and properly use company equipment and vehicles Keep job sites clean, organized and professional Complete basic daily job documentation using a smartphone/tablet Help identify opportunities for additional work when appropriate We’re Looking For Someone Who: Has previous landscaping experience Has experience leading a crew or is ready to take the next step into leadership Can confidently operate common landscaping equipment Can organize a day’s work without constant supervision Can keep a crew productive while maintaining a positive working environment Takes pride in quality workmanship Is dependable and consistently shows up on time Can communicate clearly with management, coworkers and customers Is willing to teach and help develop other employees Can make good decisions in the field Wants a long-term position with an opportunity to grow We’re looking for someone who can actually work alongside the crew and lead by example — not someone who wants to sit on the sidelines and give orders. Schedule Our regular-season schedule is typically: Monday–Thursday | Approximately 10 hours/day Fridays are generally off. Weather delays may occasionally require Friday or Saturday work. This is a year-round position for the right employee, with seasonal changes in the type of work performed. Requirements Previous landscaping experience required Crew leadership experience preferred Valid Maryland driver’s license and acceptable driving record required Reliable transportation to our Kensington-area location Ability to safely operate landscaping equipment Ability to work outdoors in hot, cold and wet weather when conditions are safe Ability to safely lift, carry and move landscape materials and equipment Ability to use a smartphone or tablet on a daily basis Must be willing to complete the company’s required pre‑employment screening About BAM’S Landscaping BAM’S Landscaping has been serving Kensington, Rockville, Silver Spring, Bethesda and surrounding Montgomery County communities for more than 10 years.
