KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Evaluate and treat patients with speech, language, cognitive-communication, voice, and swallowing (dysphagia) disorders
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans per physician referral and state SLP scope of practice
- Perform swallow evaluations (clinical/bedside and instrumental as credentialed) and make diet/safety recommendations
- Document evaluations, progress notes, and discharge summaries in the EMR per Medicare/Medicaid and facility standards
- Collaborate with physicians, nursing, PT/OT, and dietary on interdisciplinary care planning
- Maintain HIPAA confidentiality and comply with state licensure requirements
REQUIREMENTS
Must-Have
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology; ASHA CCC-SLP (or Clinical Fellow under supervision)
- Active Texas SLP license (or compact/state license eligibility)
- Current BLS/CPR certification (AHA or ARC)
- Minimum 1 2 years SLP experience (rural, home health, or skilled nursing setting a plus)
Preferred / Nice-to-Have
- Dysphagia/swallow study certification
- Geriatric or acute care experience
