Job Title: Electrical Assembly Technician

Job Description

The Electrical Assembly Technician is responsible for the complete mechanical and electrical assembly of units from start to finish using a variety of hand and power tools. This position requires mechanical and electrical aptitude, along with computer knowledge for data entry and using Excel. The role involves reading schematics, wire diagrams, and service manuals to build units, as well as laying out and building control panels and assembling conveyors. The technician will install wiring, electric components, and panels, and engage in basic repetitive tasks and high-level assembly, including troubleshooting and repairing components. Occasional assistance with tasks around the facility such as warehouse duties and packaging is expected.

Responsibilities

• Complete mechanical and electrical assembly of units using hand and power tools.
• Read schematics, wire diagrams, and service manuals to build units.
• Layout and build control panels, including PLC and drives.
• Assemble conveyors, install motors, and build panel boards.
• Perform troubleshooting and repair of components.
• Assist with various tasks around the facility, including warehouse and packaging duties.
• Install wiring, electric components, and panels.

Essential Skills

• Mechanical and electrical aptitude.
• Knowledge of computers, including Excel and data entry.
• Ability to read schematics and blueprints.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in electro-mechanical assembly.
• Familiarity with computer software other than Microsoft Office.
• Foundational understanding of mechanical and electrical principles.
• Hands-on experience with basic tools, wiring, and mechanical assembly.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Richmond, VA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $21.00/hr.
