Workday Configuration Specialist

Responsibilities: Perform data loads via EIB against approved, company-provided templates and file specs; validate row counts and error output, and report load results back to the requester Unit test each build in Sandbox or Implementation tenant, capture test evidence in the ticket, and support company-led UAT by fixing defects logged against the assigned work Move completed work through organization's change and migration process, including migration packages, change records, and approvals; do not promote to Production without company sign-off Complete assigned incident tickets, document the fix and root cause in the ticket, and update runbooks for the integrations worked Provide status on assigned work at agreed intervals, including progress, blockers, and estimated completion, and escalate risks to the organization's owner rather than adjusting scope or approach independently

Qualifications: 5-8+ years of HRIS or HR operations experience, with 4+ years of hands-on Workday configuration Deep, hands-on expertise across 3+ Workday modules (HCM required) Demonstrated ownership of ambiguous, multi-stakeholder initiatives from problem definition through delivery Excellent stakeholder communication, including the ability to steer a requirements conversation with senior leaders and push back when scope is unclear Bachelor's degree from a recognized university in Engineering, Computer Science, IT, or a related field (B.E./B.Tech/MCA), or equivalent practical experience Preferred Workday Pro certification across multiple modules

Work or Project the Individual Will Support: Contingent worker process redesign — Redesign the contingent worker lifecycle in Workday end to end: start contract, onboarding, job change, end contract, and conversion to employee. Includes closing known gaps between our vendor management system (Beeline) and Workday, tightening compliance around contract end dates and access deprovisioning, and improving data completeness on contingent worker records. Tasks, notifications, and alerts redesign — Redesign the task and notification experience for employees and managers across both Workday and ServiceNow: what fires, to whom, when, and what action it drives. Covers drafting the new experience, configuration, a manager-facing view, and extensive testing. Competencies and skills framework — Stand up the Workday competencies and talent skills framework on worker profiles, building the technical configuration ahead of the finalized business content so the platform is ready when the taxonomy lands. Advanced Compensation reconfiguration — Implement the best-practice recommendations from Workday's Advanced Compensation optimization package: comp platform configuration and process changes that set up Total Rewards for the next annual cycle and for future AI-enabled capability. Continuous improvement backlog — Deliver a prioritized queue of configuration enhancements that remove engineering dependencies from routine business change — for example, enabling Talent Acquisition to edit offer letter templates directly, or adding assessment steps to recruiting business processes without a ticket. Includes the associated security and role-based access work. India entity enablement — Configure Workday to support India entity, including local statutory and reporting requirements and bringing India employees into the global performance and compensation cycles.
