Veterinary Medical Director

Veterinary Medical Director – Greater Austin, TX
We are seeking a Veterinary Medical Director for a mixed animal practice to lead an exceptional team of doctors and staff in the Greater Austin area. This full-service veterinary practice provides compassionate care for small, mixed, and large animal patients. In addition to wellness and preventive care, the state-of-the-art facility offers surgery, digital x-ray, digital dental x-ray, a cutting edge laser surgery unit, a full in-house lab, chemistry analyzer, and more.
The Medical Director (MD) will provide clinical, surgical, and specialty responsibilities 60-80% of the time. The MD is responsible for overseeing the medical operations within the hospital, serving as a mentor to the medical staff, and leading the advancement of high-quality patient care and client service. The MD will also work in collaboration with the Hospital Manager to maintain and build relationships with the referring community. The ideal candidate is technically advanced in their field and possess strong emotional intelligence as well as positive attitudes, authenticity, and empathy toward others.
Qualifications:
- Degree in Veterinary Medicine
- 5+ year’s related experience and/or training in the veterinary field
- 3+ years of leadership/mentoring experience
- 3+ years of team-building experience
- Excellent skills for communication with colleagues and the referring communities
