Boston Whaler - Security Officer

Position Overview As part of our Security team, you will keep our facility and employees safe, representing the organization with a friendly attitude while focusing on security. Essential Functions Patrol facility on foot, ensuring the safety and security of staff, guests, vendors, assets, buildings, gates, and fence perimeter in all weather conditions, securing all doors, windows and exits depending on shift. Investigate and take appropriate action on accidents, incidents, trespassing, suspicious activity, safety, and fire incidents, as authorized by company policy. Monitor video and fire system, alert authorities if needed for emergencies. Address infractions of company rules or policies and/or forward to appropriate level of management. Guard access points, permitting or refusing entry to facility and directing employees through the turnstiles during start and end of shifts. Complete daily operation, visitor logs and incident reports, including relevant information, observations, and issues addressed. Answer phones and respond to other inquiries at the security office. Required / Preferred Qualifications High School diploma or GED required. Helpful, courteous attitude. Proficiency with computers and aptitude to learn new software and systems. Experience with security equipment and video monitoring systems. One year of security, military, or law enforcement experience. Proactive team player who is a self‑starter with constant attention to improvement. Good problem‑solving skills and ability to adapt to unexpected challenges. High attention to detail and accuracy. Able to work with multiple priorities and people. Working Conditions Office and production floor environment; office space is climate controlled, shop floor is non‑climate controlled with fluctuating temperature. Required to wear safety glasses and use other PPE while present on the production floor. Frequent exposure to moving mechanical parts, resins, fiberglass dust & cloths, epoxy, composites, and other chemicals. Must walk or stand for extended periods; bend, stoop, kneel, twist, crouch, reach, climb, and lift or move up to 35 pounds. Vision required: close, peripheral, depth perception. Noise level usually moderate. Shifts Variable schedule: 8‑to‑12‑hour workdays, 4‑ or 5‑day work week. Overtime may be required based on scheduling needs; shifts and work times can be adjusted as business needs evolve. Hourly premium shift differential available for working night and/or weekend shifts. Pay Range: $18.59 to $28.30 per hour. Base pay will vary based on qualifications, experience, business needs, and location.
