Human Resources Supervisor

In this onsite role in Moorefield, WV, you will support Human Resources across hourly workforce coverage while helping coordinate Safety/Compliance and Training/Development activities to support established plant goals. Position Overview Position Purpose: Assist in coordinating Human Resources, Safety/Compliance, and Training/Development functions to optimize the use of resources in meeting and/or exceeding established plant goals. Reports to: Human Resources Manager. Supervisory Responsibilities: Typically, this position does not have supervisory responsibilities. Key Responsibilities Serve as the primary point of contact for the HR department for hourly employees. Assist the Human Resource Manager with coordinating recruiting activities for both salary and hourly positions. Provide counseling and resource support across policy, benefits, salary administration, training/development, and performance issues. Monitor and coordinate local and state governmental and regulatory compliance activities. Maintain accurate and complete employee files and HR-related information for hourly employees, including overall management and application of the company hourly attendance policy. Represent the company in Unemployment Compensation Hearings as needed. Conduct investigations into employee complaints, including sexual harassment and discrimination matters. Manage employee transfers between departments in conjunction with the job posting procedure. Plan and coordinate departmental activities to support SQDC targets and meet and/or exceed client and customer expectations. Participate on assigned teams and/or projects. Support departmental task execution consistent with Job Instruction Breakdowns, Quality Specifications, and Standard Operating Practices. Assist the Human Resource Manager with development of HR staff. Participate in identifying hiring needs, employee selection, and the training process. Communicate departmental expectations, motivate team members, and identify opportunities for improvement. Provide team leadership aligned with company vision, mission, and CITE principles. Ensure company and location policies are followed and provide guidance and counseling as necessary. Effectively use available resources to maximize performance and achieve SQDC goals. Support and represent the company as a union-free environment. Contribute to a safe and productive work environment, including housekeeping. Participate in identifying and implementing continuous improvement initiatives. Act as a cultural role model and support Working in Teams principles. Provide backup coverage to the HR Manager in the HR Manager’s absence. Perform other tasks as directed by the direct supervisor. Required Qualifications Minimum 1 to 2 years of Human Resource management experience; manufacturing preferred. Successful completion of the Career Orientation and Development Program may be considered in lieu of experience. Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant work experience in lieu of a degree. Demonstrated problem-solving skills. Strong planning, organization, and time management skills. Experience working in a team environment. Management style consistent with CITE Principles. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common business and technical journals and financial reports. Ability to listen and communicate effectively with customers/clients to respond to inquiries or complaints from customers/clients, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community and public. Ability to develop presentations for delivery to production team, plant level teams, or public groups. Ability to apply basic mathematical concepts to manufacturing performance recording or financial performance recording. Ability to read and use a tape measure. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and work with abstract and concrete variables. Typically required to stand and walk and talk or hear. Frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. Occasionally required to lift up to 20 pounds. Preferred Qualifications PHR, SPHR, or SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP certification. Bilingual in Spanish. Track record of successful project management. Excellent personal computer skills in a network environment, including Microsoft products experience.
