Position: Lab Analyst I

Location: Riverdale, NJ
Pay: $25.00–$26.00/hour
Employment Type: Full-Time, Non-Exempt

Job Summary

The Lab Analyst I is responsible for performing qualitative and quantitative laboratory analyses, preparing samples, documenting results, maintaining laboratory equipment, and ensuring compliance with laboratory quality and safety standards. This role requires strong attention to detail, adherence to laboratory protocols, and the ability to work with modern analytical instrumentation.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze samples using HPLC, GC/MS, LC/MS, and ICP/MS instrumentation.
• Prepare samples while following proper laboratory techniques to prevent contamination.
• Prepare calibration curves and quality control samples.
• Interpret analytical data to ensure accuracy, precision, and quality control compliance.
• Maintain, clean, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment; report equipment issues as needed.
• Collaborate with laboratory staff to meet reporting deadlines.
• Perform method validations and verifications.
• Monitor laboratory inventory and notify supervisors when supplies need replenishment.
• Participate in root cause analysis and quality assurance activities.
• Assist with training new laboratory analysts and technicians.
• Help develop and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Complete additional laboratory duties and special projects as assigned.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biology, Physics, Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field.
• Minimum of 1 year of laboratory experience.
• Knowledge of laboratory principles, techniques, instrumentation, and standard laboratory protocols.
• Experience operating at least one analytical instrument preferred.
• Food science or environmental laboratory experience is a plus.
• Cannabis industry experience is a plus.

Requirements

• Must pass a background check.
• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Ability to lift up to 35 lbs.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive laboratory tasks.
