Procedure Scheduling Coordinator - Barnes Nuclear Medicine & PET

Position Overview Full‑Time Procedure Scheduling Coordinator at Barnes Jewish Hospital, Nuclear Medicine & PET Radiology Department. Day shift (Monday – Friday, 8:30 am – 5:00 pm). Office‑based, non‑remote role with hands‑on clinical support. Key Responsibilities Manage the waiting room: check in/out patients, answer phones from patients and vendors. Welcome and assist patients as the first point of contact; provide assistance and monitoring. Schedule procedures and appointments: process faxed orders and support clinical operations with accuracy and urgency. Obtain insurance information and pre‑certify with the referring physician or insurance company. Maintain patient files and records, coordinate transportation for inpatients, and perform patient procedure follow‑up as instructed. Coordinate the flow of all examinations by working closely with radiologists, technical staff, and referring physician offices. Monitor patient physiological and psychological needs and report concerns to appropriate staff, physician, or supervisor. Requirements High school diploma, GED, or higher level of education. Two or more years of related experience. High attention to detail and strong organizational skills. Passion for patient advocacy and excellent customer service. Experience in patient care coordination, medical office, scheduling, or similar roles is preferred. Preferred Qualifications 2–5 years of experience in a similar role. CPR certification. Familiarity with Centralized Scheduling and related systems.
