Job Details Job Title: Service Technician Location: Rex Moore – Sacramento, CA 95828 Position Type: Full Time Salary Range: $36.98 – $45.68 per hour Travel: Road Warrior Shift: Day Job Overview The Service Technician is a skilled professional responsible for the installation, maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of electrical systems and equipment. Key Responsibilities Complete a weekly Short Interval Schedule (SIS) with at least two weeks forecasted. Effectively communicate and coordinate work with Project Management, GC, owner reps, crew members, and other trades. Forecast training, manpower, material, tool and equipment needs well in advance. Proceed with work via written and verbal instructions, plans, drawings, and specifications. Coordinate and manage equipment rentals. Identify, schedule, and facilitate all job‑site related inspections. Demonstrate strong expertise in all aspects of trade related materials, components, equipment, systems, methods of installation, safety procedures, safe work practices, calculations, blueprint and drawing interpretation, and troubleshooting. Proficient in interpreting electrical blueprints, internal shop drawings, details, as well as architectural, civil, structural, plumbing and utility blueprints. Possess leadership qualities to effectively direct a crew of two. Meet or exceed project schedules, productivity standards, and monetary budgets. Instruct employees in the correct operation of tools and equipment, safe work practices, electrical principles, and applicable NEC. Evaluate employees under supervision in a timely manner. Document and report disciplinary issues to HR and implement actions as instructed. Work with tools alongside crew when required. Ensure a safe workplace and employee compliance with safety and health policy, reducing liability risks such as theft or damage. Embody Rex Moore’s purpose, vision, mission, and values in daily actions, interactions, and by leading by example. Provide guidance and mentorship to all lower‑level employees. Operate any hand and power tools and equipment necessary to perform all trade‑associated assignments. Demonstrate knowledge of construction scheduling. Demonstrate effective supervision and management, including laying out and scheduling work for all employees under jurisdiction. Complete administrative requirements and documentation such as time sheets, labor coding, daily logs, material and tool requisitions, man loading schedules, incident/injury reports, and employee notifications. Monitor labor productivity and quality control, direct crew to meet project schedules and production quotas. Perform Energized Electrical Work (EEW) for permit procedures up to 480V if required for troubleshooting and diagnostics. Perform metering and testing on systems not exceeding 480V following live‑work policies and procedures using common meters and test instruments. Direct and perform work within all applicable code standards (NEC, CEC, Title24, utility standards, city standards, etc.). Participate in the on‑call rotation roster and follow the dispatch process. Forecast and identify training and development needs for lower‑level employees in a timely manner. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. Work Environment Active commercial jobsite under construction with exposure to inclement weather, cold, heat, humidity, loud noise, vibrations, moving mechanical parts, vehicles, dust, chemicals, crawl spaces, shafts, manholes, small enclosed rooms, and elevated surfaces including ladders and lifts. Physical Requirements Requirements include sitting, operating machinery, speaking, walking, standing, bending, crouching, kneeling, climbing ladders, using lifts, reaching, handling tools, repetitive motion, lifting (up to 25lb regularly, up to 50lb with assistance), speaking, hearing, visual acuity, and inspecting small parts and signs.
