Overview
RISE Foundation is seeking dedicated, visionary, and community-minded leaders to serve on its Board of Directors . Board Members play a vital role in advancing the organization's mission by providing strategic oversight, governance, financial stewardship, and long-term leadership.
As a member of the Board of Directors, you will help shape the future of an organization committed to empowering youth and young adults through mentorship, education, leadership development, career readiness, and community engagement.

Position Summary
Board Members serve as volunteer fiduciaries responsible for ensuring that RISE Foundation remains mission-focused, financially responsible, and strategically positioned for sustainable growth.
Directors collaborate with fellow board members and executive leadership to establish organizational priorities, monitor performance, support fundraising efforts, and promote the Foundation throughout their professional and community networks.
Responsibilities
- Attend regular Board of Directors meetings.
- Participate in strategic planning and organizational governance.
- Approve major organizational policies and initiatives.
- Provide oversight of the Foundation's financial health and long-term sustainability.
- Support fundraising, donor engagement, and community partnerships.
- Serve on Board committees as appropriate.
- Act as ambassadors for RISE Foundation within the community.
- Ensure compliance with applicable nonprofit governance standards.
- Support and evaluate executive leadership as appropriate.
- Uphold the organization's mission, values, and fiduciary responsibilities.
Qualifications
Required
- Demonstrated leadership experience in business, education, healthcare, government, law, nonprofit management, finance, technology, or another professional field.
- Passion for youth development and community impact.
- Strong ethical standards and sound judgment.
- Excellent communication and collaborative leadership skills.
- Commitment to active participation in Board meetings and organizational initiatives.
Preferred
- Prior nonprofit board or governance experience.
- Experience with fundraising, strategic planning, finance, legal affairs, marketing, healthcare, education, or public policy.
- Established professional or community leadership network.
Time Commitment
- Approximately 3–6 hours per month
- Quarterly Board meetings
- Committee participation as assigned
- Occasional special meetings, fundraising events, or strategic planning sessions
