Details Work in the Pediatric Cardiovascular ICU (CVPICU) at a teaching hospital 13-week assignment Night shift, 3x12 hours (6:45 PM to 6:45 AM) Patient ratio of 1:2 Required to work every other weekend Floating required Epic charting system experience preferred Bi-weekly orientation schedule Requirements Active NC or Compact RN license required in hand Current BLS and PALS certifications required Minimum 1 year of experience required, though 2 years is highly preferred Prior charge nurse experience preferred Experience in teaching, community, LTAC, and Trauma Level I/II hospital settings preferred Pediatric CVICU, Pediatric Step Down, or PICU work setting experience preferred Proficiency with pediatric-specific respiratory, cardiovascular, renal, neurologic, and medication management skills as required for CVPICU care One supervisory reference from within the last year required for consideration Full SSN and DOB required for consideration Additional Information Provide critical care nursing to pediatric cardiovascular ICU patients, including those with congenital heart disease, ECMO, VAD, and post cardiac surgery needs Manage complex respiratory, cardiovascular, renal, and neurologic care including ventilator management, CRRT, ICP monitoring, and hemodynamic monitoring First-time travelers are welcome to apply Candidates who were previously permanent employees of the health system must not have worked there within the past 6 months RTO must be limited to 5-7 days maximum Local candidates accepted within a 75-mile radius at a reduced rate Flu vaccine required with no exemptions during flu season (October 31 - March 31) Travelers may have up to three absences per 13-week contract, with excessive tardiness or no call/no show subject to review American Traveler Job ID P-740307.
