Job Description & Requirements Specialty: CVPICU Discipline: RN Start Date: 09/21/2026 Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, nights Employment Type: Travel Assignment Overview Shift: Nights, 3x12hrs Hours: 36 hrs/wk Start Date: Sep 21, 2026 Length: 13 weeks Openings: 1 Description American Traveler is hiring a a Registered Nurse for a Pediatric Cardiovascular ICU position requiring at least 1 year of experience and an active NC or Compact RN license Details Work in the Pediatric Cardiovascular ICU (CVPICU) of a hospital setting Care for pediatric patients including congenital heart disease/repair, post cardiac surgery, and ECMO cases Patient ratio of 1:2 Epic EMR experience preferred Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 18:45 to 06:45 Required to work every other weekend Floating required 13-week assignment length Requirements Active RN license (NC or Compact) required in hand Current certifications: BLS and PALS Minimum 1 year of recent experience required Charge nurse experience preferred Teaching hospital, community hospital, LTAC, and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred Experience with pediatric cardiovascular conditions including congenital heart disease, ECMO, VAD, and post cardiac surgery care preferred Experience with critical care skills such as ventilator management, arterial line management, CRRT, and hemodynamic monitoring preferred One supervisory reference from within the last year required for consideration Full SSN and DOB required for consideration Additional Information Provide critical care nursing to pediatric patients with complex cardiovascular conditions Orientation sessions held bi-weekly First-time travelers are welcome to apply Local candidates accepted within a 75-mile radius at a reduced rate Candidates who were previously permanent Duke University Health System employees within the last 6 months are not eligible Flu vaccine required between October 31 and March 31 with no exemptions RTO must be limited to 5-7 days maximum American Traveler Job ID P-740309.
