Quick Facts: Location: 4101 Torrance Boulevard, Torrance, CA 90503 Start Date: 09/10/2026 Shift: Floor shifts 7:30 AM–6:00 PM; On call 6:00 PM–7:30 AM next day (beeper call) Duration: Ongoing gap coverage through 2027 Hours/Week: 40 hours, including call time Employment Type: Locum/Travel License/Certs: Active California license, DEA required, BC in cardiothoracic surgery preferred Experience: Prior perioperative and inpatient cardiovascular or cardiothoracic surgery experience required Pay & Benefits: Pay Package: $1.00/hour (note: pay details discussed upon application) Benefits: Weekly pay via direct deposit Comprehensive medical benefits (W-2) Paid sick time in accordance with applicable laws Licensure, certification, travel, and other reimbursements when applicable Robust referral bonus program and dedicated support team What You’ll Do: Rounding on postoperative inpatients Assisting in cardiovascular and cardiothoracic surgeries as first assist Seeing patients in outpatient clinics, including pre- and post-op care Interpreting EKGs, X-rays, labs, and diagnostic data (ECMO, IABP, Impella) Managing complex cardiac cases, including radial artery harvesting and endoscopic procedures Participating in on-call coverage, responding promptly to beeper calls What You Need: Current, active California medical license DEA registration Board Certification in Cardiothoracic Surgery or related specialty 3 years of experience in inpatient/perioperative cardiovascular or cardiothoracic surgery Skilled in endoscopic procedures, interpreting diagnostic tests, and emergency support (ECMO, IABP) Able to work in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment About the Assignment: This assignment involves providing critical perioperative care and on-call support for patients undergoing cardiovascular and thoracic surgical procedures.
