In this hands-on role, you will assemble complex components for build-to-order configurations, including prototype units, using engineering prints, build sheets, and bills of materials. Ideal candidates are mechanically inclined, team-oriented, and have experience working with hydraulic and diesel systems.Key ResponsibilitiesRetrieve and follow build instructions using the Build Book programAssemble components according to engineering drawings and bills of materialsRequest necessary parts from the Parts DepartmentLay out truck details for each job according to engineering specificationsPerform final assembly of each unit, including installation of hoods, lighting, electrical components, and decals per customer specificationsConnect hydraulic lines, fill systems with oil, and prepare equipment for functional testingPrepare trucks for sub-frame assembly by disassembling, measuring, repositioning, and reassembling partsPerform quality checks and test assemblies to ensure proper operationFollow all health and safety policies, procedures, and best practicesMaintain tools and a clean, organized workspacePerform other duties as assignedQualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent required3+ years of mechanical assembly or maintenance experienceStrong mechanical aptitude and assembly skillsExperience working with hydraulic, electrical, gas, and diesel systemsAbility to read and interpret blueprints, hydraulic, and electrical schematicsExcellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilitiesGood communication and teamwork skillsComfortable using computers to access work instructions and log laborPreferred:Certification or associate's degree in auto repair or related fieldExperience working with heavy mechanical equipmentPhysical RequirementsMust be able to move around, under, and over large equipment (95% of the time on production floor)Must lift up to 50 lbs. as neededWill occasionally work outdoors in all weather conditions (approx. 5% of the time)Why Join Schwing America?Make a direct impact on high-performance equipment used worldwideWork in a clean, well-equipped facility with a supportive teamCompetitive wages and comprehensive benefits packageGrowth and advancement opportunities in a stable industryApply now and bring your mechanical skills to a team that values quality, pride, and purpose.
