ASPICE Assessor (Lead / Competent Assessor)

The Assessor establishes an objective baseline of the client's current process capability against ASPICE, identifies what must change to reach Capability Level 2, and verifies progress through interim and readiness assessments. The role is independent of day-to-day implementation, to preserve objectivity.

Assessment planning : Define assessment scope, process set (VDA scope: SYS.2 SYS.5, SWE.1 SWE.6, SUP.1, SUP.8, SUP.9, SUP.10, MAN.3, ACQ.4 as applicable; plus SEC/cybersecurity processes if in scope), target capability level, sampled projects and schedule.

Baseline gap assessment : Conduct interviews, review work products and evidence across representative projects in the product line, and rate base practices and process attributes (PA 1.1, PA 2.1, PA 2.2) using the NPLF scale.

Gap report : Produce a clear current-state vs. target-state report per process, with findings, strengths, weaknesses, risk to Level 2, and prioritized recommendations.

Roadmap input : Work with the Program Manager and Implementers to translate findings into a phased improvement roadmap and effort estimates.

Interim and readiness assessments : Run checkpoint assessments to measure closure of gaps, and a formal pre-assessment ahead of any OEM or third-party Level 2 assessment.

OEM readiness : Prepare teams for customer/OEM-led assessments, including evidence packaging, interview coaching and mock assessments.

Reporting : Present findings and progress to client engineering leadership and Birlasoft program governance in a concise, factual manner.

Independence : Maintain assessor objectivity and confidentiality of assessment data in line with intacs and ISO/IEC 33002 principles.

intacs certified ASPICE Competent Assessor (Provisional Assessor considered with strong assessment track record)

Hands-on experience leading or co-leading ASPICE assessments at Level 1 3 for automotive suppliers

Strong working knowledge of Automotive SPICE PAM v4.0 and v3.1, the VDA scope and VDA Guidelines (Blue-Gold book)

Background in automotive embedded or vehicle software development (ECU, gateway, SDV, connectivity, or cloud-to-vehicle software)

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science or a related field

Excellent interviewing, analytical and report-writing skills

Experience assessing agile/DevOps and CI/CD-based software organizations against ASPICE

Knowledge of ISO 26262 (functional safety), ISO/SAE 21434 and ASPICE for Cybersecurity

Familiarity with ALM tools (e.g., Jira, Polarion, Codebeamer, Jama, PTC/IBM ELM) and traceability evidence

Experience with OEM-led assessments (e.g., German OEM / VDA QMC context)
