Associate Scientist, Post Doc Fellow

Postdoctoral research fellow position at Merck focused on applied epidemiology and real-world evidence research for immunocompromised populations. The role involves developing scalable epidemiologic resources and integrated data platforms to support vaccine and infectious disease clinical development and regulatory decision-making.

Responsibilities

• Lead applied epidemiologic research on immunocompromised populations supporting vaccine and infectious disease development
• Contribute to developing integrated data hub with reusable cohort definitions and analytic approaches
• Design and execute research case studies demonstrating data hub utility for study feasibility and patient identification
• Prepare scientific deliverables including protocols, reports, presentations, and manuscripts for internal and external audiences
• Collaborate with cross-functional mentors, internal partners, and external investigators to ensure research rigor

Requirements

• Ph.D., DrPH, MD, PharmD, or equivalent doctoral degree in epidemiology, public health, outcomes research, biostatistics, or related field
• Training or experience in epidemiologic study design, observational research methods, and real-world data analysis
• Demonstrated ability to work with large healthcare data sources including claims data, EHRs, and registries
• Strong quantitative and analytic skills with ability to translate scientific questions into feasible research approaches
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for scientific and non-technical audiences
• Ability to work collaboratively across functional teams and external stakeholders

Compensation: $82,000-$92,000
