GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Tether Case Manager will monitor youth on tether for compliance with the tether requirements. Youth can be placed on tether as a progressive sanction implemented by the CMO, as part of the re-integration plan when released from residential treatment or detainment (JDF/JAIL), and/or when court-ordered as a PL1 or PL1.5 probation condition. Tether monitoring activities required for each case may vary and are determined based upon the individual needs of the youth/family.

DUTIES:

Tether Coordination for all CMO tether cases, including but not limited to:

• Monitoring the tether email alerts and the tether system.
• Completing tether packets and other tether-related forms (such as schedule change forms, termination forms, equipment return forms, etc.).
• Coordination with the House Arrest Tether company as needed to address concerns or provide information.
• Contacts with youth and parents/guardians by phone and/or in person for the purposes of addressing alerts/violations, schedule changes, viewing equipment, removing tether, retrieving equipment, etc.
• Receiving and responding to calls and emails from the Tether Monitoring center.
• Ongoing communication with the assigned CMO Case Managers, CMO Management Team.
• Returning tether equipment to House Arrest as needed.
• Case notes entered in JAIS for activities listed above.
• Attending court as needed.
• Additional tether oversight deemed necessary based on individual case needs or changes in tether policies.

In addition to Tether monitoring, the Tether Case Manager may be asked to provide Direct Support the CMO Case Management Team by performing ancillary tasks as assigned by the VP of JJ, including but not limited to:

• Provide supportive transportation to youth (screens, DNA, court, etc.).
• Assist with supervising on-site drug screens and other client-related activities.
• Complete ancillary documentation with youth and families such as intake packets, workforce development forms, applications, etc.
• Review and obtain youth and parent signatures on probation plans, terms of probation forms, etc.
• Assist with completing required in-person contacts for consumers (detention visits, placement visits, and home visits).
• Entering case notes in JAIS for all activities listed above.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, counseling, criminal justice, or related field. Experience in working with justice involved youth and their families. Must have experience in family-focused and family-centered practice as well as strength-based delivery of services. Understanding of working within the environment in which the youth grow, develop, and function, as well as knowledgeable of the geographical area in which the consumers reside. Ability to provide service that matches a family’s language, culture and spiritual beliefs and affirm the value of the family. Knowledge and skills in assessment of potentially violent situations. Must be computer proficient; knowledge of confidentiality policy and procedure; flexible work schedule that allows for extensive client access (accessible 24 hour/seven-day week). Valid driver’s license with a good driving record, all state clearances (including Children’s Protective Services), and strong interpersonal and communication skills.
