Automation Engineer

Dorsett Controls, a leader in electrical control systems, seeks an experienced Automation Engineer to design and implement automation solutions that enhance efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and reliability in industrial settings. Our focus is on developing innovative electrical and control systems for a variety of industries. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive automation projects from conception through to implementation, ensuring they meet customer and company standards.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and implement automated systems and control strategies tailored to our clients' needs.
Collaborate with other engineers and project managers to identify project specifications and requirements.
Program, simulate, and test automated machinery and processes to ensure they function according to specifications.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues with existing automation systems to minimize downtime.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of automation technology and innovations to suggest upgrades and increased efficiencies.
Prepare and review technical documentation, including system designs, user manuals, and project reports for both internal and client use.

Required Skills

Strong programming skills in PLC (e.g., Allen-Bradley, Siemens) and HMIProficient in CAD software for designing automated systems
Knowledge of robotics, machine learning, and artificial intelligence applications in the industrial sector
Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex electrical and control systems
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Strong communication and teamwork abilities
