Direct Counsel represents a respected law firm in Pasadena, CA who is seeking an Associate Attorney with 4+ years of defense-side employment law experience to join its growing practice. The firm is flexible regarding hybrid or remote arrangements depending on the candidate.

The ideal candidate will have experience handling employment litigation matters, particularly PAGA claims, and be comfortable independently managing day-to-day case responsibilities. This role also offers the opportunity to support broader business and business litigation matters while helping expand the firm’s employment practice.

Responsibilities

• Handle employment litigation matters from inception through resolution
• Manage and support PAGA matters and other employment-related disputes
• Draft pleadings, motions, discovery, and other litigation documents
• Conduct legal research and prepare memoranda
• Participate in case strategy, client communications, and settlement discussions
• Support business and commercial litigation matters as needed
• Collaborate closely with Partners and other attorneys on a variety of client matters

Qualifications

• 4+ years of defense-side employment law experience
• Experience handling PAGA matters preferred
• Active California Bar membership in good standing
• Strong writing, analytical, and communication skills
• Ability to manage cases independently in a fast-paced environment
• Business or commercial litigation experience is a plus

Compensation

Salary Range: $120,000 - $145,000 annually, depending on experience, plus bonus opportunities and additional incentive compensation.

The firm offers a performance-based compensation structure with quarterly and annual bonus opportunities tied to billable hours and overall performance.
