Clinical Pharmacist - Ambulatory Infusion, Kiawah Infusion

Job Description Summary The Ambulatory Infusion Pharmacist reports to the ambulatory infusion manager and provides distributive and clinical pharmacy services primarily to outpatients of the Medical University clinics. The role addresses nursing personnel needs regarding drug disposition and usage, counsels patients and health care professionals with drug information, ensures timely and medically appropriate dispensing of medication, and is trained to check, validate, and prepare hazardous and non-hazardous sterile products in accordance with USP 797 standards. Responsibilities Report to the ambulatory infusion manager. Provide distributive and clinical pharmacy services to outpatients. Address nursing personnel regarding drug disposition and usage. Counsel patients and health care professionals by providing general and specific drug information. Ensure timely and medically appropriate dispensing of medication to patients for assigned areas. Check, validate, and prepare hazardous and non-hazardous sterile products in accordance with USP 797 standards. Qualifications Doctor of Pharmacy or a Bachelor's degree in pharmacy. Completion of a pharmacy residency preferred. Valid South Carolina pharmacist license upon hire, or within 90 days of hire. Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or American Red Cross BLS for Healthcare Providers certification required.
