Operations Supervisor

Job Overview First Student is hiring for an Operations Supervisor focusing on day‑to‑day bus operations, maintenance, fueling, and safety. Schedule & Compensation Schedule: Monday through Friday, day shift (on call weekends 3 times a year). Salary: $50,000–55,000 per year, depending on experience. Job Responsibilities Demonstrate and promote a safe work environment at all times. Ensure drivers have the daily paperwork necessary to complete their routes. Ensure charter paperwork is received by the Location Manager for processing. Coordinate field trips by assigning personnel and vehicles. Assist drivers with establishing route descriptions under the location manager’s direction. Ensure drivers follow scheduled fueling and mechanical work. Observe safety practices of personnel and take corrective action when necessary. Assist the Location Manager during training sessions and kickoff meetings. Attend disciplinary meetings with the location manager. Interact with school officials on routine matters at smaller bus locations (as needed). Drive bus on occasion if necessary. Assist dispatcher when necessary. May manage small locations under the overall direction of the Location Manager. Ensure routes meet state, local, and vendor requirements. Review time sheets prior to submission to payroll. Minimum Requirements 3–5 years of experience in the transportation industry. Good supervisory skills. Excellent communication and organization skills. Good interpersonal skills. Computer skills. Subject to DOT drug testing and physical examination. Knowledge of DOT Regulation 49CFR Part40.
