The Opportunity

A leading national law firm is seeking an Employment & Trade Secret Litigation Associate to join its Washington, D.C. office.

The position combines sophisticated management-side employment litigation with advisory work for fast-growing technology and other corporate clients.

The practice handles employment disputes, restrictive covenant and trade secret matters, internal investigations, day-to-day counseling and employment issues arising in corporate transactions.

Responsibilities

• Represent employers in complex employment disputes.
• Handle litigation involving restrictive covenants and non-competes.
• Work on trade secret litigation.
• Advise clients regarding terminations and leaves of absence.
• Conduct and advise on internal investigations.
• Counsel clients on reductions in force.
• Draft and review policies and employment documentation.
• Advise on employment matters arising in M&A and other corporate transactions.
• Handle pleadings, discovery, motions and trial preparation.

Candidate Requirements

• 2–5 years of management-side employment experience.
• Strong employment litigation background.
• Experience providing day-to-day employment counseling.
• Exposure to non-compete, restrictive covenant and trade secret disputes.
• Internal investigations experience preferred.
• Experience supporting corporate transactions beneficial.
• Excellent academic credentials.
• Strong written and oral advocacy skills.
• Washington, D.C. Bar membership preferred.
