Summary The Shipping Expeditor I is responsible for packaging, weighing and labeling of printed material for shipping to clients by mail, FedEx, DHL or UPS indicated by instructions. This role also entails image scanning and documentation of records. Duties and Responsibilities Assembles specified number of items and cartons for each addressee as indicated by instructions Attaches identifying information and shipping instructions onto packages Provides required reports and shipping logs Processes outgoing shipments into computerized shipping systems Communicates with the Shipping Manager about the company’s needs and requirements Creates and ensures the accuracy of packing slips Performs routine quality control functions on print and postal report files created to ensure that specifications are correct and items are shipped on time Safely operates lift trucks or other material handling equipment and pallet jacks to move, convey or hoist shipments Perform other duties as assigned Qualifications & Requirements Required Education, Experience, Certification/Licensure High School graduate, or completion of GED preferred This position requires an individual who is technically and mechanically oriented. Must be able to read and interpret documents such as operation and maintenance instructions Prior experience operating an electrical pallet jack and forklift truck is a plus Must possess basic computer and excel knowledge Experience with BCC Software/Mail Manager and understanding of mail barcodes, mail house, presort and co-mingling a plus Knowledge of computer shipping systems or basic software aptitude a plus Experience with FedEx, UPS, DHL, and business mail entry requirements a plus Meticulous administrative and organizational skills Experience in the printing industry a plus but not required Able to listen effectively and adapt to changing conditions Be flexible with hours and work days Working Conditions Must be able to perform the essential job duties. Work may be performed in an office, warehouse and/or manufacturing environment. Requires the ability to perform the following activities for the majority of the day: stand for extended periods of time, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch or climb. In addition requires the ability to lift and/or push up to 50 pounds. May be exposed to noise and be required to wear hearing protection for the duration of the shift.
