After School Care

About the Role:

Trinity Lutheran Church in Burlingame, CA is looking for a caring and enthusiastic After School Care team member to help create a safe, fun, and nurturing environment for children after the school day ends. This is a wonderful opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of kids in our community while working within a warm and welcoming faith-based setting.

Responsibilities:

Supervise and ensure the safety of children during after school care hours

Plan and lead engaging activities including arts and crafts, games, and recreational play

Assist children with homework and provide academic support as needed

Maintain a positive, structured, and nurturing classroom environment

Communicate effectively with parents and guardians during pickup

Follow all child safety protocols, licensing regulations, and program guidelines

Collaborate with program staff to ensure smooth daily operations

Requirements:

Experience working with school-age children in a childcare, education, or youth program setting

Strong communication and interpersonal skills with children and parents

Ability to maintain a patient, positive, and encouraging demeanor

CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)

Must pass a background check and meet state childcare requirements

Reliable, punctual, and committed to consistent attendance during program hours

High school diploma or equivalent required; early childhood education coursework a plus
