This role supports 100% remote work.As an Underwriter, you’ll play a key role in Pacific Life’s growth and long-term success by evaluating insurance applicants; you'll correlate all aspects of risk to determine whether to accept, modify or decline applications. You'll focus on mortality by evaluating risk of death which includes history, degree of medical maintenance, treatment, and flags of potential future risk. Apply today to join a team that is dedicated to innovation, career development, and the people-first culture of Pacific Life.How you will make an impact:Starting with review of upfront underwriting data and toolsHandle additional underwriting requirements by determining value, ordering, and reviewing to perform risk selectionFinalizing casesData enter medical history and use system workbenches to process and decision casesDemonstrate dependability, organization, and sound judgment by adhering to schedules and meeting all productivity, quality, and performance standards.The experience you will bring:7-10+ years of Life Insurance Underwriting experience with proven proficiency in underwriting processes and philosophiesAbility to handle advanced decision level authorities without a co-signature (1 Million or higher)Effective written and verbal communication skills with the ability to build relationships both internally and externallyCritical thinking skills and attention to detail with the ability to quickly identify information by categorizing, estimating, recognizing differences or similarities, and detecting changes in circumstances or eventsAbility to interpret meaning of information for others; translating or explaining what information means and how it can be usedAbility to develop specific goals, plan, and prioritize workWhat will make you stand out:Bachelor's DegreeBGA and Trial Experience PreferredCompletion of LOMA 280/281 and 290/291; actively working toward AALU, FLMI, and FALUUnderwriting ConsultantThe base pay range below reflects the Senior Underwriting Consultant level, and represents the company’s good faith minimum and maximum range for this role at that level at the time of posting.$103,140-$126,060You can be who you are.We are committed to a culture of diversity and inclusion that embraces the authenticity of all employees, partners and communities.
