Sr. Staff Accountant

Salary - $70,000 - $85,000

Position Overview: The Senior Staff Accountant supports the Accounting Manager in ensuring the accurate and timely preparation of the general ledger, financial statements, and bank reconciliations. This role provides financial reporting and project support and works closely with the Accounting Manager, Controller, and cross-functional partners through clear, effective communication.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the preparation of monthly financial statements.

• Assist Accounting Manager in timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial close.

• Provides guidance on processes/procedures to other team members as needed.

• Assist the Accounting Manager/Controller on the annual audit and other ongoing projects.

• Handle staff accounting duties (bank and account reconciliation, revenue recognition, accruals/deferrals) for assigned market(s).

• Own key monthly journal entries, such as payroll, across multiple locations and subsidiaries through intercompany accounts.

• Lead, contribute and maintain various projects such as fixed assets, leases (ASC 842), NetSuite implementation or POS integration.

• Assist in monthly inventory reconciliations, standard cost roll and year end audit observations.

• Assist Accounting Manager/Controller in onboarding acquired companies and integrating accounting practices. 

Qualifications

· Knowledge/Experience with NetSuite, QuickBooks Online and QuickBooks desktop. NetSuite strongly preferred.

· Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in Accounting

· Strong working knowledge of GAAP and internal control standards

. 2-5 years of accounting experience.

· Possess strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

· Individual should be self-motivated and self-starting, exhibit an ability to multi-task and require little supervision.

· Demonstrate the ability to handle a great deal of change and pressure, being able to shift priorities and deadlines and/or goals.

· Must enjoy working in a people-oriented and socially interactive environment.

· Ability to work independently and with a team in a fast-paced and high-volume environment with an emphasis on accuracy and timeliness.

· Must be able to lift 50 lbs. to waist height.

· Must be able to lift 30 lbs. above your head.

· Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.

· Basic understanding of business metrics.
