Church Front Desk & Administrative Coordinator

The Front Desk Administrator is the "Front Door" of Grayson United Methodist Church. As the first point of contact for members, visitors, and the community, this role requires a unique blend of warm hospitality and high-level administrative efficiency. You are the face of our "A Family. Through Christ. Serving All." mission, ensuring that everyone who walks in or calls feels welcomed, while simultaneously driving the administrative and digital tasks that keep our church moving forward. Hours & Schedule · Primary: Monday – Friday | 8:30 AM – 2:30 PM (30 hours/week). · Looking to Hire Date: 6/1/26 or before. · Rate: $16-$19 hr. Key Responsibilities · Greeting & Hospitality: Welcoming visitors, members, and deliveries, while providing a warm, Christian environment. · Front Desk Management: Maintaining a clean reception area, answering phones, and responding to general emails. · Security & Safety: Monitoring visitor access and helping shield staff as community members come in with needs, directing them to the appropriate staff or resources. · Scheduling & Information: Assisting with coordination of the church calendar, managing room bookings, and providing information on ministries and events. · Administrative Support: Providing administrative support to staff, including a variety of clerical tasks. Preferred Skills · Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook). · Strong written and verbal communication skills. · Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive family/pastoral matters with care. · Strong aptitude for managing multiple responsibilities and staying productive in an environment with frequent interruptions. · Ability to assist with maintaining the website and updating information from various ministries and staff. · Experience with social media management tools and website updating (Canva, Buffer, or native platform schedulers).
