Operations Supervisor

We are seeking an experienced Operations Supervisor to manage a shift or section in a service center, ensuring safety, quality, efficiency, and customer satisfaction. Responsibilities Monitor and evaluate employee safety daily, provide training on safety processes. Evaluate and improve safe and efficient planning, loading and unloading of freight. Teach and enforce safe lifting techniques, use safe lifting equipment as needed. Maintain housekeeping standards to support safety and productivity. Assign and supervise pickups and deliveries, ensuring proper utilization of employees and equipment. Collaborate with Service Center management to meet daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly business objectives. Provide instruction, analysis, suggestions, and ideas to improve operations. Give constructive feedback on performance metrics such as ROI, MPH, stops per hour, return shipments, missed shipments, delivery/pick up errors, overall productivity. Conduct daily inspections for compliance with local, state, federal safety regulations, OSHA, DOT. Ensure trailers are loaded correctly and freight is safely transported. Pursue continuous improvement in all service center operations. Operate AS400, BLU, DYMS, and other freight monitoring systems. Complete forklift job training and operate forklift when necessary. Conduct daily shift meetings and make informed decisions based on volume levels. Inspect conditions of tools and equipment, direct corrective actions for improper conditions. Comprehend and enforce company and government regulations. Work assigned shifts as needed, including weekends and holidays. Use OD’s proprietary technology system to monitor shipment locations throughout the day. Complete required shipping forms such as shipping orders, city stripping manifests, freight bills, inter-terminal movement forms, exception forms. Handle staff responsibilities, including hiring and disciplinary actions. Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent (some college preferred). 2+ years of operations experience, preferably in transportation. Supervisory experience preferred. Working knowledge of AS400 and Microsoft Office. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Strong interpersonal skills. Bachelor’s degree preferred. Work Schedule Working Days: Monday through Sunday (each day is a potential work day). Working Shift: AM / PM.
