General Production Worker

The General Production Worker operates a variety of CNC and fabrication equipment to support daily production needs in a welding and fabrication shop. This role focuses on safely and efficiently running machines such as hardware equipment, bandsaws, burn tables, and other fabrication tools to produce quality metal components according to specifications and blueprints.

Responsibilities

• Operate a range of CNC and fabrication equipment, including hardware machines, bandsaws, burn tables, and other production machinery based on daily job requirements.
• Set up, run, and monitor CNC machines to ensure accurate and efficient production of metal parts.
• Perform general machine operating tasks, including loading materials, adjusting settings, and inspecting parts during and after production.
• Read and interpret blueprints to understand job specifications, dimensions, and tolerances for each project.
• Assist with metal finishing processes to ensure parts meet quality and surface finish standards.
• Work within designated departments such as the welding area, paint area, and machine operating department as needed to support workflow.
• Follow safety procedures and shop guidelines to maintain a safe working environment in an active welding and fabrication facility.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization around workstations and equipment, recognizing that the environment is a working weld shop.
• Communicate with team members and supervisors regarding job status, equipment needs, and any issues affecting production.
• Support production goals by being flexible with tasks and contributing to efficient operations across different areas of the shop.

Essential Skills

• Hands-on experience with machine operating in a production or fabrication environment.
• Ability to operate CNC equipment and adjust basic machine settings safely and accurately.
• Experience working with burn tables for cutting and processing metal materials.
• Proficiency in operating bandsaws and other metal cutting equipment.
• Knowledge of metal finishing processes and basic fabrication techniques.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints to follow job specifications and measurements.
• Comfort working in a welding shop environment with active fabrication and related processes.
• Strong attention to safety procedures and ability to follow established shop protocols.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in fabrication or welding environments is highly beneficial.
• Experience working across multiple departments such as welding, painting, and machine operation.
• Ability to adapt to different machines and tasks based on daily production needs.
• Strong communication skills to coordinate with team members in a busy shop setting.

Work Environment

The role is based in an open welding and fabrication shop with multiple dedicated work areas, including a paint area, welding department, and machine operating department. The environment is slightly dirty, consistent with an active weld shop where metal cutting, welding, and finishing take place. Team members regularly work around CNC machines, bandsaws, burn tables, and other fabrication equipment. The position is on second shift, running from 4:00 p.m. to 2:30 a.m., Monday through Friday, with overtime opportunities available.

This is a Permanent position based out of New Richmond, WI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $28.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
