Perform maintenance service and repairs in the areas of plumbing, carpentry, painting, plastering, machine servicing, and electrical.Essential Job Duties and ResponsibilitiesWorks under the general direction of the Facilities SupervisorAssist with preventive maintenance tasksAssists in inspecting buildings, grounds, and equipment to identify needed repairReplaces light bulbs, lamps and tubes as needed, reports other electrical conditions requiring remedial actionAssist in the maintenance, repair, remodel and new construction in the areas including but not limited to carpentry, plumbing, electrical, refrigeration and HVACPrepare surfaces and apply paint and other protective coatings including stainsFollows all SMC Ltd. safety proceduresPerforms general manual labor task including loading, unloading, lifting and moving of materialsMonitors the facility and grounds as assigned to ensure cleanliness and proper aesthetics of the propertyEnsure landscaped areas are kept free of weeds, trash and debrisMaintains all equipment needed for general maintenance dutiesMaintains inventory on cleaning supplies and order supplies as needCompletes Work Requests as assignedClean and maintain facility, sanitize restrooms, clean sinks, countertops, tables, microwaves and refrigerators in break roomsClean mirrors and glass doors in facilityRestock supplies in bathrooms, break rooms and common areasKeeps janitorial equipment clean, safe and operableSet up and arrange tables and chairs for meetings and company functionsEmpty trash cans and recycling bins, replace liners and clean receptacles as necessaryKeep outside break areas cleanMaintains the outside groundsPerform other duties as assignedEssential QualificationsRequires a minimum of one (1) years of experience in the facilities field or in a related areaMinimum education of a High School Diploma or equivalentStrong mechanical abilityAbility to read, write, speak and understand EnglishADA RequirementsBend, squat, climb, grasp, reach, lift or otherwise move about frequently and for extended periods of timeLift, move or otherwise transfer up to 50 lbs. frequently, or more occasionallyWalk, stand or otherwise move about continuouslyExposure to typical machine shop physical hazards which may require respiratory protectionTypically sits, grasps items and performs keyboarding for occasional operation of a computerWhat SMC has to offer?Clean, Climate-Controlled EnvironmentStable schedulePaid holiday and PTOHealth, dental, and vision insurance401(k) retirement savingsLife and disability insurancePromotional opportunitiesTraining and career growth programsAmazing co-workersTuition reimbursementEmployee Assistance ProgramAt SMC Ltd. we recognize that people come with a wealth of experience and talent beyond just the technical requirements of a job.
