Senior Estimator

A commercial general contractor is seeking a Senior Estimator to lead preconstruction efforts on ground up projects in the Orange County market. This role plays a key part in pricing strategy and works closely with operations and leadership on complex commercial and industrial builds.

This is a good fit for someone who has led estimates independently from concept through final pricing and is comfortable owning the numbers on large scale ground up work.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead estimating efforts for ground up commercial construction projects
• Analyze drawings, specifications, and project documents to build accurate estimates
• Develop quantity takeoffs and pricing models from conceptual through GMP
• Manage subcontractor outreach, bid leveling, and bid analysis
• Coordinate with operations and project management to align on strategy

Requirements

• 5+ years of estimating experience with a commercial general contractor
• Ground up construction background, large scale or structural concrete projects a plus
• Proven ability to run estimates independently start to finish
• Strong understanding of construction means and methods, structural systems, and site work
• Established subcontractor relationships in the Southern California market a plus
• Comfortable in a fast paced environment with a high level of ownership
