Compensation$150,000 - $200,000 AnnuallyJob SummarySupervises the completion of responses to calls for tenders within his/her scope and monitors customer relations. Guarantees the quality of the studies and the conformity of the response files to calls for tenders. Main ResponsibilitiesAbility to close out all bids assigned to them as well as support estimating team to close bids and submit responsive proposalsAbility to prepare bid items assignments by discipline for coordination with supporting estimatorsAbility to troubleshoot budgets for proper creation in management and accounting systemIdentify risks and opportunities on the jobs assigned to themPrepare cost estimates/qualifications for contract complianceReview and submit all bid questions for jobs assigned to themSupport Chief Estimator by identifying bid opportunities within their respective disciplineTrain and support the development of the departmentPerform other duties as assignedEducation and/or Work Experience RequirementsBachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Construction Technology or an equivalent combination technical training and/or related experienceMinimum of 10 years’ previous experience in estimating cost controls and/or engineering related experienceClear driving recordSkillsAbility to comprehend project plans and specificationsAbility to multitask efficiently and effectivelyAbility to work independently and as a teamAbility to work under pressure and meet short deadlines and process projects quicklyExcellent attention to detailExcellent math skills with the ability to calculate and analyze dataExcellent organizational skillsExcellent verbal and written communicationKnowledge of engineering and space relationshipMust rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goalsProficient in Word, Excel, JD Edwards, Heavy Bid/Heaving Job estimating softwareStrong tendency to take initiativePhysical RequirementsAbility to utilize hands and fingers in order to type and carry reports should the need requireAbility to stand, walk, and reach with arms and hands throughout the workday should the need ariseAbility to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, and crouch should the need ariseAbility to sit for a long period of time, possibly more than 90% of the workdayAbility to see clearly or with assistance via necessary correction Colas Inc. and its subsidiaries are an Equal Opportunity Employer.
