Position Overview The Student Success Coordinator supports the mission of the Office of Medical & Student Success through the development, implementation, and coordination of student success initiatives, leadership development programs, career development activities, and student engagement efforts. This position serves as the primary coordinator for the Advisory Colleges Program and Advisory Colleges Council (ACC), providing oversight and support for ACC student leaders while developing and implementing a longitudinal leadership curriculum designed to cultivate leadership, professionalism, service, and community engagement among medical students. The Student Success Coordinator collaborates with students, faculty advisors, academic leadership, and campus partners to enhance the medical student experience and promote student success through leadership development, event planning, career development programming, and co-curricular initiatives. This position also assists with academic advising initiatives, student outreach efforts, and other Office of Medical & Student Success programs and events. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree and two (2) year of related experience; or any equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Demonstrated effectiveness in applying student development and leadership theories and practices. Experience developing, implementing, and evaluating educational and co-curricular programs. Strong facilitation, public speaking, and presentation skills. Ability to mentor and support student leaders. Ability to organize, coordinate, and manage multiple projects simultaneously. Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills. Ability to analyze program data and assessment results to support continuous improvement. Ability to work collaboratively with learners, faculty, staff, Student Affairs professionals, academic and clinical partners, and community stakeholders. Strong problem-solving and organizational skills. Demonstrated commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment. Preferred Qualifications Master's degree in Higher Education, Student Affairs, Counseling, Education, Public Health, or a related field. Experience working with health professions students or in medical education. Experience in student leadership development, mentorship programs, or advising. Experience planning and coordinating student programs, workshops, conferences, retreats, and special events. Experience developing and facilitating training programs or leadership curricula. Experience assessing program outcomes and preparing reports. Experience working with all student populations. Experience collaborating across departments and institutional units. Job Duties Assist the Assistant Director, for Advisory Colleges to help coordinate and oversee the day-to-day operations of the Advisory Colleges Program. Serve as the primary staff liaison for the six Advisory Colleges and their respective faculty advisors. Partner with faculty advisors and student leaders to foster engagement, mentorship, wellness, professionalism, and professional identity formation. Develop and implement initiatives that strengthen community and student belonging within the Advisory Colleges Program. Monitor program effectiveness and recommend enhancements to improve student engagement and outcomes. Serve as the primary advisor to the Advisory Colleges Council (ACC). Recruit, train, mentor, and support ACC student leaders. Develop, implement, and evaluate a longitudinal leadership development curriculum for ACC members. Facilitate monthly ACC meetings and leadership development sessions. Coordinate leadership retreats, workshops, planning sessions, and recognition activities. Foster student leadership skills through experiential learning opportunities, professional development, and reflective practice. Support ACC initiatives that align with the mission and goals of OMSS and TCOM. Support student success initiatives designed to promote academic achievement, retention, professional development, and student well‑being. Assist with student outreach efforts and connect students with institutional resources and support services as appropriate. Collaborate with OMSS staff, faculty advisors, and student affairs professionals to address student needs and concerns. Assist with academic advising initiatives and programs that support student success and progression. Coordinate and support planning and implementation of Office of Medical & Student Success programs and events. Lead logistical planning for Advisory Colleges activities, leadership programs, student development workshops, enrichment initiatives, and special events. Assist with planning and execution of milestone events, recognition programs, student engagement activities, and OMSS-sponsored programming. Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to execute programs that support student engagement and success. Manage event communications, registration, scheduling, materials, assessments, and follow‑up activities. Assist with budget tracking and resource management for assigned programs and events. Develop and conduct assessments to evaluate program effectiveness and student engagement. Collect, analyze, and report program participation and outcome data. Prepare reports and recommendations to support strategic planning and continuous improvement efforts. Maintain accurate program records and documentation. Represent OMSS on committees, task forces, and institutional initiatives as assigned. Perform other duties as assigned. Physical Requirements Communicating with others to exchange information.
