Project Engineer I

We are seeking a motivated Project Engineer I to support the planning, coordination, and delivery of engineering projects from initial concept through completion. This entry-level role is suited to an organised and technically capable professional who is keen to develop project management skills while working collaboratively with engineers, contractors, suppliers, and internal stakeholders. You will help ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with applicable standards, specifications, and quality requirements.

Key responsibilities include assisting with project planning, schedules, budgets, risk registers, technical documentation, and progress reporting. You will review drawings, specifications, and engineering calculations; coordinate the exchange of technical information; track actions and deliverables; and support the preparation of reports, estimates, procurement packages, and change requests. The role will also involve attending site visits and project meetings, monitoring construction or installation activities, helping resolve technical issues, and escalating risks or delays when appropriate. You will maintain accurate project records and contribute to continuous improvement across engineering and delivery processes.

Applicants should hold a degree or diploma in engineering, construction, or a related technical discipline, with relevant internship, graduate, or early-career project experience desirable. You will need strong written and verbal communication skills, sound analytical and problem-solving ability, and confidence working with spreadsheets, schedules, and technical documents. Familiarity with project management principles, engineering design software, document control systems, or industry regulations will be advantageous. The successful candidate will be proactive, detail-oriented, safety-conscious, and able to manage competing priorities while working effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team. A willingness to learn, adapt, and occasionally travel to project or client sites is expected.
