Job Description

This role works in a modern production facility manufacturing cross-laminated timber products. You operate hand tools, forklifts, and production equipment and machines while supporting safe, efficient, and high-quality output in a clean, climate-controlled environment.

Responsibilities

• Operate hand tools and production equipment to support the manufacturing of cross-laminated timber products.
• Safely operate forklifts to move materials, finished goods, and supplies throughout the facility.
• Handle and work with wood materials, following established procedures to ensure quality and consistency.
• Follow production schedules and work instructions to meet daily and weekly output targets.
• Perform basic equipment checks and report any issues or irregularities to the appropriate team members.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area to support safety, efficiency, and product quality.
• Follow all safety policies and procedures, including proper use of tools, equipment, and personal protective equipment.
• Collaborate with team members and supervisors to support smooth production flow and continuous improvement.
• Participate in training and skill development activities provided by the company.
• Assist with general labor tasks in the lumber mill and production facility as needed.

Essential Skills

• Experience working in production, manufacturing, or general labor environments.
• Ability to safely operate hand tools and follow detailed work instructions.
• Comfort working with wood materials in a mill, lumber yard, or similar setting.
• Ability to operate or learn to operate a forklift in a safe and controlled manner.
• Strong attention to safety and adherence to established safety procedures.
• Reliability and willingness to work as part of a team in a fast-paced production environment.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Prior mill or lumber experience is a strong plus.
• Experience working in a lumber yard or lumber mill is highly beneficial.
• Previous forklift experience is an advantage.
• Experience in carpentry or working with wood is a plus.
• Interest in learning new production processes and equipment.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Spokane Valley, WA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $21.00/hr.
