Project Estimator – Charleston, South Carolina
Full‑Time | Commercial Construction
A leading commercial builder in the Carolinas and Mid‑Atlantic region is seeking a Project Estimator to join its Charleston, South Carolina team. The Project Estimator plays a key role in preconstruction efforts and works directly with Owners, Design Teams, and Project Management to develop accurate, strategic, and competitive estimates for commercial construction projects.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Analyze drawings, specifications, proposals, and related documents to prepare detailed time, cost, material, and labor estimates
- Develop cost estimates for materials, leased or purchased equipment, subcontracted scopes, production activities, and labor requirements
- Prepare conceptual and detailed budget estimates and assist in developing project schedules
- Perform Value Management and identify cost‑saving opportunities without compromising quality
- Develop procurement strategies aligned with project goals and market conditions
- Build and maintain strong subcontractor and supplier relationships
- Solicit, evaluate, and level Trade Partner proposals
- Prepare and execute subcontract agreements
- Produce final contract estimates and support project handoff to operations
Qualifications and Experience
- Five years of commercial construction estimating experience preferred, but not required
- Proficiency with Destini (Beck Technology) estimating software preferred
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent listening skills and strong verbal and written communication abilities
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team‑oriented environment
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
