Project Estimator – Charleston, South Carolina

Full‑Time | Commercial Construction

A leading commercial builder in the Carolinas and Mid‑Atlantic region is seeking a Project Estimator to join its Charleston, South Carolina team. The Project Estimator plays a key role in preconstruction efforts and works directly with Owners, Design Teams, and Project Management to develop accurate, strategic, and competitive estimates for commercial construction projects.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Analyze drawings, specifications, proposals, and related documents to prepare detailed time, cost, material, and labor estimates
• Develop cost estimates for materials, leased or purchased equipment, subcontracted scopes, production activities, and labor requirements
• Prepare conceptual and detailed budget estimates and assist in developing project schedules
• Perform Value Management and identify cost‑saving opportunities without compromising quality
• Develop procurement strategies aligned with project goals and market conditions
• Build and maintain strong subcontractor and supplier relationships
• Solicit, evaluate, and level Trade Partner proposals
• Prepare and execute subcontract agreements
• Produce final contract estimates and support project handoff to operations

Qualifications and Experience

• Five years of commercial construction estimating experience preferred, but not required
• Proficiency with Destini (Beck Technology) estimating software preferred
• Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite
• Excellent listening skills and strong verbal and written communication abilities
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team‑oriented environment
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
