Tax Senior

Pulakos CPAs, a local and independent CPA firm in Albuquerque, NM, has been servicing New Mexico businesses for over 65 years. We are seeking a talented and motivated Tax Senior to join our team. We have no minimum chargeable hour requirement , focusing instead on client service and working as a team. Job Summary This position is not just about data entry or preparation, but more about developing important technical skills and knowledge. Responsibilities and Duties Tax return preparation of individual, trust and various types of business returns; Research and communicate complex tax issues; Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records; Ensure clients comply with IRS regulations and meet their state and federal tax obligations; and Review client financial records, income statements and expenditures. Qualifications and Requirements 2 -5 years previous experience in a Tax Department of a Public Accounting firm or other significant tax experience; Tax return preparation of individual, trust and various types of business returns; Certified Public Accountant license preferred, or be on track to becoming a CPA; Ability to research and communicate complex tax issues; Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills and Willingness to interact directly with clients while delivering high quality service and helping maintain positive client relationships. The Tax Senior should be proficient in the following or similar software Ultra Tax Thomson Reuters Engagement Manager software(or similar trial balance software) Microsoft Excel and Word Benefits and Perks Terrific local firm culture. We manage the firm based on projects and value to the client, rather than how many chargeable hours you have or your realization level against an unrealistic budget.
