Clearwater Capital Partners
Employer: Clearwater Capital Partners ( Industry: Financial Services Type: Full Time Status: Exempt Reason: New Position Experience: 5 + years Education: Bachelor’s Degree Compensation: Base with bonus opportunity Location: Hoffman Estates, IL About Clearwater Capital Partners Clearwater Capital Partners is a locally owned, privately held independent wealth management firm built for professionals who want to do meaningful work at a high level in a truly client-first environment. The firm is a Registered Investment Adviser based in Hoffman Estates, Illinois, serving successful individuals, families, businesses, and institutions through comprehensive wealth management, family office, and institutional advisory services. Founded in 2006 by John E. Chapman, Clearwater was created in response to the conflicts, limitations, and broken promises too often found in the traditional financial industry. From the beginning, the firm has been grounded in fiduciary advice, independent thinking, and a commitment to delivering objective guidance tailored to each client’s unique circumstances. For prospective team members, Clearwater offers more than a platform—it offers a culture built around stewardship, integrity, objectivity, and the pursuit of excellence. The firm seeks professionals who want to help build the RIA of the future, whether they are established advisors, next-generation talent, or specialists across portfolio management, advanced planning, client experience, and operations. Clearwater’s purpose is to inspire and empower clients to live with confidence, joy, and a spirit of abundance, and that mission shapes both the client experience and the internal culture of the firm. Team members are expected to bring high character, intellectual curiosity, professionalism, and a genuine desire to improve clients’ lives through excellent advice and service. The firm’s boutique structure is a meaningful advantage for professionals who value agility, close collaboration, and the ability to make a visible impact. Rather than being one of many inside a large institution, team members at Clearwater work in an entrepreneurial, forward-looking environment where craftsmanship matters, relationships matter, and outstanding work is recognized. An important extension of Clearwater’s identity is the Clearwater Capital Foundation, the firm’s philanthropic entity, which reflects its commitment to purposeful stewardship beyond traditional wealth management. The Foundation supports efforts centered on financial empowerment, women and children, veterans, and individuals in need, reinforcing a culture of generosity, service, and long-term impact. Clearwater’s reputation is reinforced by both external recognition and the caliber of its professionals. The firm was named one of the Best Places to Work in Illinois for 2026, marking the fifth consecutive year it received that distinction, and team members have earned respected industry and professional recognition, including Forbes Next-Gen and Best-In-State advisor honors, Family Wealth Alliance recognition, and advanced designations such as CFA®, CPA®, CFP®, CIMA®, CDFA®, AWMA®, JD, CRPS®, AIF®, CEPA®, MBA, and QKA®. This combination of cultural strength, professional excellence, and visible achievement helps make Clearwater an attractive long-term home for professionals who want to grow, contribute, and deliver life-changing value to clients and families. Why Clearwater Capital Partners Clearwater Capital Partners is the firm serious professionals join when they want more than a platform. It is an independent, boutique RIA built for people who care deeply about doing excellent work, serving clients at a high level, and helping shape the future of a growing firm with real standards, real purpose, and real opportunity. Founded in 2006, Clearwater was created to offer an alternative to the conflicts, product bias, and limitations that have long characterized much of the traditional wealth management industry. The Ideal Financial Advisor Profile The advisors who thrive at Clearwater Capital Partners are seasoned professionals who have built meaningful careers grounded in trust, performance, and long-term client relationships. They typically bring 5 to 10 years of industry experience, along with an established practice and assets under management in excess of $100 million. They are not simply looking for another platform, they are seeking a place where their work can have deeper impact, where their clients are better served, and where their professional ceiling is no longer constrained. Our ideal advisor brings a proven track record of success across market cycles. They have demonstrated the ability to grow and sustain a high-quality practice through disciplined business development, thoughtful advice, and consistent delivery of value. Their client relationships are not transactional, they are enduring partnerships built on credibility, responsiveness, and genuine care. As a result, their clients are loyal, engaged, and positioned to follow them to a better long-term environment. They operate with a fiduciary mindset and are committed to a fee-based model that aligns their success with the success of their clients. They believe advice should be objective, comprehensive, and tailored to the complex needs of successful individuals and families. They are intellectually curious, forward-looking, and continually refining their approach to investment management, planning, and client experience. Culturally, they are entrepreneurial and self-directed. They take ownership of outcomes, hold themselves to a high standard, and bring a strong work ethic to everything they do. At the same time, they value collaboration and recognize the advantage of being part of a focused, high-caliber team. They are drawn to the agility, independence, and client-first orientation of a boutique RIA and understand how that environment can unlock better outcomes for both advisor and client. They maintain an unblemished regulatory record, with a clean U4, and conduct themselves with professionalism and integrity in all aspects of their practice. Credentials matter to them – not merely as a signal of accomplishment, but as evidence of commitment to mastery, continuous improvement, and excellence in serving clients. Above all, the ideal Clearwater advisor is aligned (whether explicitly or intuitively) with the firm’s purpose: to inspire and empower clients to live with confidence, joy, and a spirit of abundance. They see wealth not as an end in itself, but as a tool to enhance lives, strengthen families, and create lasting impact. They are motivated by the opportunity to deliver advice that is not only technically excellent, but genuinely life-changing. Ideal Candidate Snapshot 5 to 10 years of experience as a client-facing financial advisor in wealth management or private client RIA settings, with a consistent record of growth and responsibility. Current portable book of business with assets under management in excess of $100 million, reflecting strong client acquisition, retention, and relationship depth. Fee-based, fiduciary orientation with experience serving successful individuals and families through comprehensive planning and disciplined investment management. Clean U4 and strong professional reputation, with no history of regulatory, compliance, or client-related issues. Relevant professional credentials such as CFP®, CFA®, CIMA®, or comparable designations demonstrating commitment to mastery and ongoing development. Proven business development track record: builds and sustains referral networks, deepens existing relationships, and consistently drives net new AUM. Entrepreneurial mindset with a strong work ethic, bias for ownership, and desire to grow within a boutique, independent RIA environment. Drawn to the advantages of a high-touch, client-centric, boutique firm rather than a large, product-driven institution, and comfortable transitioning clients to a new platform. Naturally aligned with Clearwater’s purpose of inspiring and empowering clients to live with confidence, joy, and a spirit of abundance, and motivated by the opportunity to deliver genuinely life-changing advice.
