School Accountant

Applications will be accepted beginning Monday, September 14, 2026 12:00 AM (Eastern Standard Time) School Accountant Job Description EFFECTIVE: 2026-2027 School Year QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university; Exhibit an understanding of the principles and practices of financial accounting, including fund accounting and reporting procedures consistent with statute, code, and GAAP; Minimum of three years of successful accounting experience in the abovementioned areas, preferably in a public school district; Experience with grants and grant reporting, including federal and state grants; Knowledge and experience in analyzing school district budgets; Experience with Department of Education budget software; Understanding and experience in collecting, managing, and analyzing electronic data; Knowledge of purchasing requirements under 18A:18A; Proficiency in the use of computer systems and software essential to the operation of the business office, such as accounting, database, word processing, spreadsheet, and payroll applications; Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills; Required criminal history background check and proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident alien status.
