Fleet Maintenance Operations Supervisor

Ops Supervisor The Ops Supervisor assists the Ops Manager or Senior Ops Manager with operations and personnel for a shift at a specific location. The role includes supervisory duties over technicians, customer service coordinators, service employees, and other shift staff. The Ops Supervisor ensures customer needs are met while balancing financial, operational, quality, safety, and asset targets against business requirements. Location: LaVergne, TN Schedule: Monday – Wednesday 2:00 pm – 10:30 pm; Friday 12:00 pm – 8:30 pm Bonus eligible. Essential Functions Workflow Management: Conduct work analysis, planning, and scheduling. Assign work to technicians, track productivity, hold shift and shop meetings, approve repair orders, manage warranty policies, triage unscheduled customer drive‑ins, perform yard checks. Labor Management: Provide training, development, and performance management for all personnel assigned. Customer Management: Manage customer relationships, issue resolution, satisfaction, and retention. Communicate with customers about PM scheduling and vehicle status. Conduct customer visits as needed. Asset Management: Direct internal teams to maintain location appearance and compliance with applicable standards. Identify shop tooling needs, oversee vehicle specifications and in‑service/out‑service processes, manage parts inventory and policies. Quality Management: Perform quality inspections for PM and repairs, conduct in‑process reviews, analyze root causes of breakdown, implement corrective actions, enforce mandatory documentation, enforce safety, EPA, and mandatory compliance. Financial Management: Meet net maintenance cost objectives while protecting quality, safety, and customer satisfaction. Control maintenance budgets, P&L obligations, mandatory installations, payroll, purchase orders, invoicing, fuel reconciliation, billing procedures, and mandatory data integrity. Additional Responsibilities Perform other duties as assigned. Skills and Abilities Must professionally represent Ryder and interact competently with customer management. Strong vehicle diagnostics and repair knowledge. Intermediate Microsoft Office skills. Qualifications High school diploma or GED required. Associate’s degree preferred or 1‑3 years of maintenance‑operations experience required. Bachelor’s degree preferred or 1‑3 years of maintenance‑operations experience required. Maintenance and technical experience in a shop environment required. Supervisory experience preferred. Experience with a shop management system preferred. Intermediate Microsoft Office skills preferred. Job Category Maintenance DOT Regulated No Compensation Salary: $68,000 (fixed annual salary). Eligible for an annual bonus.
