Staff Accountant

Prepare and post journal entries for month-end and year-end close processes. Perform account reconciliations and investigate discrepancies. Maintain general ledger accounts and supporting schedules. Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. Support management reporting and financial analysis activities. Accounts Payable & Cash Management Process vendor invoices, employee expense reports, and payment requests. Assist with weekly payment runs and cash management activities. Reconcile bank accounts and monitor cash balances. Support treasury functions, including debt schedules and cash flow reporting. Month-End Close & Compliance Assist with the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process. Prepare audit schedules and support external audit requests. Ensure compliance with GAAP and company accounting policies. Assist with tax compliance, annual filings, and regulatory reporting requirements. Process Improvement & Analysis Analyze financial data and identify opportunities to improve processes and controls. Support implementation of accounting system enhancements and automation initiatives. Participate in special projects and ad hoc reporting as needed. Qualifications Education Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Experience 1-3 years of accounting experience, preferably within financial services, public accounting, banking, private equity, asset management, wealth management, or fund administration. Internship experience in accounting or finance will be considered. Technical Skills Strong understanding of GAAP and accounting fundamentals. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including Pivot Tables and VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP functions. Experience with ERP systems and accounting software preferred. Experience with financial reporting and reconciliations. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to prioritize multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Team-oriented with a proactive and professional attitude.
