Senior FP&A Analyst

Scion Nonprofit Staffing has been engaged to conduct a search for an FP&A Manager for a mission-driven nonprofit organization serving youth and families throughout Northern California. This is a part-time, direct-hire, hybrid position based in San Francisco, CA. POSITION OVERVIEW The FP&A Manager will support financial planning, analysis, reporting, and decision-making across a multifaceted nonprofit organization. This role will partner closely with finance and program teams to develop and monitor budgets and forecasts, analyze financial performance, and translate financial information into actionable insights. The ideal candidate is analytical, collaborative, detail-oriented, and comfortable working within nonprofit funding structures, including grants and government contracts. RESPONSIBILITIES Develop and support organizational and program budgets, forecasts, financial models, and ongoing financial planning. Prepare and analyze financial reports, dashboards, and variance analyses to identify trends, opportunities, and areas requiring attention. Partner with program and operational leaders to translate financial information into clear, actionable insights and support informed decision-making. Monitor financial performance across programs and funding streams, including government contracts, grants, and restricted funds. Utilize Excel, accounting/ERP systems, budgeting and forecasting tools, and reporting/BI platforms to analyze and communicate financial data. Support financial processes and reporting related to contracts, grants, and other nonprofit funding requirements. QUALIFICATIONS Hands-on experience in nonprofit financial analysis, accounting, FP&A, or a closely related financial function, ideally within a multi-program organization. Strong experience with budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and variance analysis. Advanced Excel and data analysis skills, with the ability to work effectively across financial and reporting systems. Experience working with government-funded programs, grants, contracts, restricted funding, or similar nonprofit funding structures. Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or a related field. COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS Compensation for this position is flexible based on experience and qualifications. This is a part-time, direct-hire position. Employees working more than 20 hours per week are eligible for benefits. Retirement benefits are also available.
