Travel Occupational Therapist (OT) Location: Annandale, Virginia Job Details Fusion Medical Staffing is seeking a skilled Occupational Therapist for a 13‑week travel assignment. Current BLS Certification (AHA/ARC). Preferred Qualifications Master’s Degree or higher in Occupational Therapy. OTR Certification (NBCOT). Occupational Therapy Assistant experience (new graduates welcome). Other certifications or licenses may be required. Summary The Occupational Therapist provides comprehensive, evidence‑based therapeutic interventions to help patients develop, recover, and enhance skills necessary for independent daily living. Working across diverse settings, the OT evaluates patient needs, diagnoses functional limitations, and designs individualized treatment plans tailored to each patient’s unique goals. Through direct, hands‑on interventions and the use of adaptive techniques and specialized equipment, the OT empowers patients and educates families on strategies to optimize functional independence and improve overall quality of life. Essential Work Functions Create personalized therapy plans based on patient assessments, evidence‑based practices, and goals. Deliver individualized occupational therapy interventions in accordance with the established treatment plan. Provide direct, hands‑on therapy using adaptive techniques, modalities, and assistive devices. Educate patients, families, and caregivers on therapy goals and strategies. Collaborate closely with interdisciplinary healthcare team to ensure coordinated, holistic care. Track patient progress through regular evaluations, modify treatment plans as needed, and maintain accurate documentation. Engage in quality assurance initiatives and professional development activities. Adhere to infection control protocols, safety guidelines, and regulatory standards. Collaborate in discharge planning. Perform additional duties assigned within scope of practice. Essential Skills Critical thinking, service excellence, and good interpersonal communication skills. English language proficiency: read, write, and communicate. Ability to read/comprehend written instructions and follow verbal instructions. Proficiency in PC skills. Physical and Technical Requirements Remain stationary, move about, move equipment 50‑100 lbs, push, pull, and bend. Grasp, perform fine manipulation, push/pull, move when assisting with procedures or using department equipment. Other Requirements Coping with frequent contact with the general public and customers while meeting deadlines under pressure. Work under close supervision occasionally, as well as without assistance from other personnel. Handle irregular activity schedules occasionally and maintain continuous concentration to detail.
