Part‑time Veterinary Technician – Ophthalmology Location: 3908a Far West Blvd, Ste A, Austin, Texas 78731 About the Role Eye Care for Animals Far West (ECFA) is a Thrive Pet Healthcare partner seeking a Veterinary Technician to support outpatient treatments, laboratory tests, surgeries, and client interactions within a community‑focused setting. Responsibilities Handle animal patients and provide pre‑ and post‑operative care. Perform IV catheters, blood work, and injections (IV, IM, SQ). Assist with surgeries and anesthesia monitoring. Administer medications and record accurate service charges. Advise clients on financial options and present estimates. Maintain comprehensive client interaction and documentation. Qualifications Previous veterinary technician/assistant experience required. Licensed Technician preferred, but not required. Proficiency in IV placement, blood work, and injections. Experience monitoring anesthesia and using monitoring equipment. Team player with strong verbal and written communication skills. Self‑motivated and eager to learn in a fast‑paced environment. Proficient computer skills (email, file upload/download, typing). Ability to multi‑task with a positive attitude. Compensation Hourly pay ranges from $20.00–$25.00 for non‑licensed techs, and $25.00–$30.00 for licensed techs. Rates are negotiated based on credentials and experience.
