Senior AccountantThe Accountant plays an important role in the daily operations of the Business Office. This role is responsible for performing account reconciliations, maintaining the general ledger, assisting with audit preparations, and performing other accounting duties as assigned. This individual is proficient and effective in business and accounting procedures and works well with staff and parents.Responsibilities:Reviews and processes posting of cash receipt activity including cash, checks, and credit card paymentsPerforms routine and complex accounting reconciliations requiring knowledge of systems, independent judgment and ability to respond accordinglyDuring the yearly financial audit, prepares tie out schedules to support accounting balances and fulfills other requests by auditors for sampling or supporting documentationMonthly reconciliations of various general ledger accounts including cash, receivables, payables and other balance sheet accountsAssist with the planning, budgeting, and logistics for school field trips, safeguarding the school against overages and ensuring successful execution.Build and update electronic payment links to support auxiliary and school activities; assist users with real-time transaction tracking, reporting, and prompt account reconciliation.Manage the fixed asset register and accounting for monthly additions, disposals, depreciation and movement in construction-in-progress.Other duties as assignedRequirements:Minimum Bachelor degree is required, in Accounting, Business or Finance.3+ years accounting experience in non-for-profit area or the financial services industry preferredExperience with automated accounting systemsExcellent written and oral communications skillsPositive attitude as a "can do" oriented team playerAbility to deal sensitively with confidential information with high degree of professionalismKey Role Competencies:AdaptableCollaborativeAnalyticalReflectiveSelf-motivatedDetail-orientedProfessionalTo be considered for the above-mentioned position, please submit the following items: a letter of interest, resume, and email and phone contact information for three professional references with at least one being supervisory in nature by the stipulated deadline.
