IT Business Analyst

Salary: $93,600 - 124,800 per year Requirements:

• Strong background as a Business Analyst or Business Systems Analyst within the insurance sector
• Experience with supplemental health, Accident & Health, voluntary benefits, or group benefits
• Familiarity with products such as accident, critical illness, hospital indemnity, disability, and group life
• Demonstrated skill in requirements elicitation, discovery, and process mapping
• Experience operating between business stakeholders and technical teams
• Understanding of insurance policy, billing, claims, enrollment, or product administration workflows
• Experience supporting system conversions, migrations, acquisitions, or large-scale integration efforts is highly desirable
• Experience with data mapping, reconciliation, and UAT
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• 5 years of IT Business Analyst experience
• 3 years of data mapping experience
• 3 years of Waterfall experience
• 2 years of experience facilitating JAD sessions
• 3 years of insurance industry experience
• Experience with individual supplemental insurance products is a plus
• Group life or short-/long-term disability experience is a plus
• Experience working for an insurance carrier is a plus
• M&A or book-of-business conversion experience is a plus
• SQL or data analysis skills are a plus
• Experience with Azure DevOps, Jira, or similar requirements-management tools is a plus

• Lead discovery sessions with business stakeholders, subject matter experts, and technology teams
• Collect, document, and refine functional and business requirements
• Conduct current-state and future-state analysis
• Document business processes, workflows, business rules, and system dependencies
• Support intake and triage of business and technology requests
• Identify gaps between existing and acquired systems and processes
• Assist with data mapping, system integration, and conversion requirements
• Translate business needs into clear requirements and user stories for technical teams
• Collaborate with product owners, developers, data teams, and QA throughout implementation
• Define acceptance criteria and support testing and user acceptance testing
• Assist with data validation and reconciliation during conversions
• Track requirements, decisions, risks, issues, and dependencies
• Help maintain continuity of critical insurance processes throughout the transition

We are a national insurance organization seeking an experienced Business Analyst to support a major acquisition and integration initiative within our Supplemental & Group Benefits business. This remote role works across business and technology teams to understand existing processes, applications, data, and product needs tied to supplemental insurance products, while helping define how acquired capabilities and processes will fit into our organization. The position offers health insurance, dental insurance, and work-from-home flexibility, with pay listed at $45.00 to $60.00 per hour.
