Job Overview Employment Type: Full time Shift: Day Shift (Mon‑Fri 11AM – 7:30PM after training; initial 6 weeks: 5:45AM – 2:15PM) Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise, Idaho is seeking an Anesthesia Technician to join the Surgical Services Department. The Technician supports anesthesia under the direct supervision of the anesthesiologist and manager, assisting the team before, during, and after patient procedures in various operating rooms. Responsibilities include maintenance, packing, and resupplying anesthesia supplies and equipment, responding to codes when available, and ensuring carts, machines, and gas tanks are ready for safe anesthetic procedures. Schedule Position is scheduled for 40 hours per week. Benefits Health insurance (eligible day one) PTO accrual and generous paid time off Retirement planning with matching contributions College savings plans for family Multiple life insurance plans that can change as needs develop Employee Assistance Program Tuition reimbursement and educational opportunities Market‑competitive pay Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required Prior experience in a hospital anesthesia department preferred American Heart Association Basic Life Support for HealthCare Provider (BLS/HCP) certification required Responsibilities Develop knowledge of anesthesia machines, electronic monitors, and diagnostic equipment Clean, check, and prepare instruments and anesthesia supplies at established levels for safe administration Remove broken or defective equipment, place work orders when appropriate, and troubleshoot equipment issues Provide direct, high‑quality service to surgeons, anesthesiologists, and anesthesia staff Respond promptly and accurately to physician and anesthetist direction and work collaboratively with the surgery team Assist as primary helper in the operating room, preparing anesthesia supplies, handling medications under supervision, and ensuring carts and machines are ready before and between cases Retrieve special anesthetic supplies requested before and during surgery Prepare complex equipment for hemodynamic monitoring (e.g., arterial and pulmonary artery catheter transducers, EKG, pulse oximeter, nerve simulators) Conduct daily anesthesia equipment inspections—suction, electrical plugs, gas connections, oxygen and nitrous oxide cylinders Assist patient positioning, dressing, and securing IVs and arterial lines; assist intubation and extubation as directed Restock used supplies during surgery and dispose of contaminated materials in accordance with operating room P&P for biohazardous waste Clean anesthesia equipment in the operating room and outside locations after each procedure Inventory and order anesthesia supplies, run errands for anesthesia team members, and perform additional duties as requested Collaborate with clinical engineering to troubleshoot and fix broken equipment EEO Statement We are an Equal Opportunity Employer.
