Position Summary The Seattle Colleges are looking for innovative and dedicated faculty members who have a demonstrated commitment to working within a college community that is diverse and serves students from a broad spectrum of socioeconomic and academic backgrounds. Faculty will teach various levels Economics classes in a part-time capacity. Successful applicants will have the ability to work effectively with students, colleagues, staff and others in a campus climate that promotes cultural diversity and multicultural understanding in an urban environment. Successful applicants may be invited to interview at South Seattle College. Specific teaching assignments will be dependent on the instructor's background, scheduling, and available courses. Candidates should be willing to teach in a variety of formats such as in-class, hybrid, online and varied class times including days, evenings, and weekends according to program needs. This position is governed by a collective bargaining agreement with representation by AFT-Seattle. The salary range for part-time faculty is (generally P1: A1- E7): $7,703 - $11,537.33 (for a 5-credit single-class workload per quarter). Target start rate of pay is $7,703 - $8,912 (for a 5-credit single-class workload per quarter) A1-C3. What You Will Be Working On Provide high-quality instruction using effective teaching strategies that support diverse student populations and promote student learning. Assess student progress and provide constructive, timely feedback to support academic success. Ensure course materials are accessible to students in compliance with digital accessibility standards. Demonstrate a commitment to fostering an inclusive and equitable learning environment. Utilize appropriate educational technologies and communication tools to support teaching, learning, and administrative responsibilities. Master's Degree or PhD in the field or related field from an accredited institution.
