Certified Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Counselor (CASAC) (CR/511301) New York, New York Salary: USD30 - USD35 per hour A community-based behavioral health organization is seeking a Certified Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Counselor (CASAC) in New York, NY to provide substance use and recovery counseling in a multidisciplinary treatment setting. The role focuses on intakes, individual and group counseling, treatment planning, and timely documentation for adults receiving medication-assisted treatment services. About the Opportunity: Shift: Day shift Schedule: Monday to Friday Hours: 6:15 AM to 1:45 PM Setting: In-person clinic Responsibilities: Provide individual and group counseling using trauma-informed, evidence-based, and harm reduction approaches. Conduct intakes, assess patient needs, and help develop treatment plans with measurable goals and interventions. Support adults with opioid use disorder in a medication-assisted treatment program. Maintain timely and accurate documentation in the electronic medical record. Participate in interdisciplinary meetings, supervision, and ongoing program and clinical activities. Qualifications: CASAC certification with at least 6 months of substance use disorder experience. Bachelor’s degree, or more than 2 years of CASAC experience in lieu of the degree requirement. Ability to complete documentation within 48 hours. Experience working with adults in substance use recovery or treatment settings.
